Hour Building
This is an essential part of gaining experience for the commercial licence, and we ensure that a sensible, structured approach is followed. The most practical experience is gained ‘en-route’, that is during cross-country flight.

To this end, various routes are designed from a practical aspect that will reinforce procedures that should be second nature to a professional pilot. This includes radio navigation, RNAV (with the use of GPS and VOR positions), controlled and uncontrolled airfield operations, time critical operations and international cross-boarder flights.

We also encourage the concept of the two-crew approach, with two individuals flying together, swapping seats to log the fight time accordingly. This encourages elementary MCC (Multi-Crew Cooperation) and lays the foundation for CRM (Crew Resource Management). These aspects are trained before being implemented to ensure maximum benefit from this type of operation.
